In 1996 , the Volkswagen VW611 project started, which is the original project code of the Phaeton. The purpose of this plan is also to launch a luxury model to face the increasing threat of Mercedes-Benz and BMW in the luxury car field. Phaeton taken from Greek mythology, means “burning” , in which the feelings you felt it.
At the beginning of the birth of the Phaeton, the sheet metal error of no more than 1 mm front and rear body , the well-made hatch cover and the double aluminum alloy bracket of the rear trunk, even the body was smooth and vibration-free when driving at a speed of 305 km/h. The safety considerations for the driver and the members of the car are also the tireless pursuit of the Phaeton engineers. In the later stage, Volkswagen equipped the Phaeton with a 4motion constant-time four-wheel drive system, which can provide sufficient grip performance for each wheel.
Similarly, bringing excellent power upgrade experience to customers is something we have been insisting on. Every step of the installation of this Phaeton 3.0 has been carefully studied by many of our masters, from the re-design of the brackets of each part to the layout of each pipeline, we pledge to do it to the extreme.
INSTALLATION PROCESS
Phaeton’s engine compartment space is not rich, but the layout is very neat. But we need to consider how to put the supercharger package in without destroying the aesthetics of the engine compartment while maintaining excellent supercharging efficiency.
The installation position of the supercharger body bracket needs to use the hole position of the original car. We chose the position at the bottom left of the engine, which is relatively concealed, and because the original car belt needs to be replaced, the installation is slightly difficult.
The installation location of the oil cooling is different from that of Prado and other off-road vehicles. The front space of the Phaeton is also relatively compact. The water tank of the original car is almost close to the anti-collision beam, and only the water tank in the kit can be put down. For oil cooling, we put it on the lower edge of the right side of the front, and then customize the bracket to fix it with the bolt holes of the original car.
The water tank is installed at the front of the car, and the lack of sufficient space requires our master to spend more time to complete this step.
We made some adjustments to the wind box of the original car, and the water cooler was installed above the supercharger. The advantage of this is that the stroke of the pressurized air to the water cooler is short, and the efficiency will be higher. After the air passes through the water cooler, the combustion of the engine will be more complete.
After upgrading the engine compartment of our supercharger kit, most of the components are installed in the right position, and the appearance is not much different from the original car.
